Definition of environment
What is environment?
The term environment generally means, the complete dynamic natural aspects surrounding a living organism, affecting or influencing its development, growth, health and reproduction. Though environment is generally considered in relation to humanity, every living being has its own niche surrounding. While considering the biophysical aspects of environment, the living and nonliving surroundings of the particular organism are to be inclusively considered. Both these biophysical aspects are dynamic and can be either natural or man made. To what extent the biophysical surrounding has to be considered is a big question. It can vary right from microscopic scale to global scale. The environment can be subdivided according to its attributes. The attributes are exhaustive and are highly varied. The examples of surroundings can include land, water, atmosphere, climate and temperature related aspects. There is continuous stress on our surroundings by our actions leading to climate change, loss of forest cover, species extinction, pollution of air and water, nuclear waste buildup, depletion of ozone layer and over exploitation of non renewable natural resources.
