The definition of ' health' according to
World
Health Organisation is: "Health is a state of complete physical,
mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or
infirmity."
This definition is entered into force on 7 April 1948 has
not been amended since 1948.

Complete health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.
Physical well-being is the result of physical fitness achieved by proper nutrition and diet, proper physical exercise and proper rest and sleep.

The general indicator of the good nutrition in a population is
their growth in height and weight, their resistance to diseases and the quality of their life.
Mental and emotional well being
is achieved first by being physically healthy and secondly by the availability of circumstances for the use and development
of emotional and cognitive capabilities.
The social well-being of a population is by the
availability of the ordinary nutrition demands of everyday life.
These demands include the proper environment, open places in urban
areas, diet and nutrition clinics, nutrition education and care of the infirm and the diseased.
Health care nutrition gives
us the insights into the essential factors for achieving health.
These nutrients are carbohydrates, proteins, fats,
essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and super foods.
Robust in-patient care systems, primary, secondary and tertiary health care facilities, public health systems,
research, teaching and training facilities and well organised governance, finance and insurance systems are some of the goals
to be achieved for global health care.
One exemplary international effort is in the eradication of small-pox by the year 1980.
